Kndzoresk

The old village of Kndzoresk is a highly attended place in terms of hiking tours in Armenia.

The village is widely famous for its old rock formations and ancient caves with dug windows and doors which were inhabited till the 1950s. The beds dug right in the walls of the caves make you imagine how people used to live there, what they did and looked like. Remains of an old cheese factory are found in one of the caves. There is also a cave which is turned into a little museum right there which displays all the interesting and unusual things that were found in those caves: a coal iron, a spindle, an ancient type of butter making machine etc.

Tatev Monastery

There is no place more harmonious than Tatev Monastery being hugged with the green fields and forests of the mountains that surround it.

The Tatev Monastery is a 9th-century Armenian Apostolic monastery complex which stands on the edge of a deep gorge of the Vorotan River. In October 2010 Wings of Tatev, world’s longest cableway from Tatev to Halidzor village was opened. It is breath-taking to look down from the cable car and see all the beauty of landscape from a bird’s eyes view.

The Devil’s Bridge

After you enjoy the beauty and the harmony of Tatev, there is still more to discover near the monastery. There is a path down the gorge which is one of the most attracting hiking trails in Armenia. Here a miraculous bridge has been formed by itself with no human influence. Welcome to the 30 meters long Devil’s bridge in the depth of 700 meters down the gorge. There are beautiful falls rushing down from the rock caves. It is ironic how Heavenly beautiful the Devil’s bridge is!
