Khor Virap Monastery located in the province of Ararat has become one of the most important attractions in Armenia. This monastery is known to hold the story of the Saint Gregory Illuminator, the man who contributed to the expansion of Christianity in Armenia and finally the adoption of Christianity as Armenia’s state religion in 301 AD.
