Matenadaran is the world’s largest storage that contains ancient manuscripts from not only Armenia, but also the world. It is a national treasure, representing the richness of the Armenian culture and history. This important research institute specializing in manuscripts was established on March 1, 1959, and it stores around 17,000 ancient manuscripts and more than 100,000 ancient archival documents.
