Tsitsernakaberd is a monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. It is one of the most important monuments in Armenia, depicting the tragic past, the history of the Armenian nation. Every year, on the 24th of April, thousands of people including Armenians, diaspora Armenians, and many foreign visitors gather in this monument to commemorate and pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Near the monument is where the Armenian Genocide Museum is located. This museum-institute serves a very important purpose of not only displaying and introducing the facts but also educating the public on the subject of Genocide.
